Dave Murray is an English musician and actor best known as the lead guitarist of the heavy metal band Iron Maiden. He has been with the band since its inception in 1975 and is one of the longest-serving members. He has also released two solo albums, Dreamland (1998) and Dave Murray's Guitar Clinic (2003). Murray was born in Edmonton, London, England, on 23 December 1956. He began playing guitar at the age of 12, and was inspired by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Jeff Beck.
