Joe Besser was an American actor and comedian best known for his work in the Three Stooges short films. He was born on August 12, 1907 in St. Louis, Missouri. He began his career as a vaudeville performer in the 1920s, and later moved to Hollywood to pursue a career in film. Besser appeared in over 100 films and television shows, including the Three Stooges shorts, Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, and The Abbott and Costello Show. He was known for his high-pitched voice and his comedic characters, often playing a henpecked husband or a cowardly character. Besser was married twice and had two children.
