She began her career as a singer in the 1940s and went on to become one of the most popular and beloved Mexican singers of all time. She was known for her powerful voice and her ability to interpret a wide range of musical styles. Lola Beltrán was a prolific recording artist, releasing over 50 albums throughout her career. She was also an accomplished actress, appearing in over 30 films. She was awarded the National Prize for Arts and Sciences in Mexico in 1998. Lola Beltrán was married to the Mexican actor and singer Antonio Aguilar from 1959 until her death in 1996. She died of cancer in Mexico City on March 24, 1996. She was 67 years old.
